精神格闘道場は、2022年1月中旬に、あるトーナメントへの参加準備として正式に発足しました。それ以前から、Pembinaan Mental Karate Kyokushinkai Indonesia（PMKKI）のメンバーが個人名義で試合に参加する際に、非公式にこの名称が使用されていました（詳細は後述）。

The Spirit Fighting Dojo was officially launched in mid-January 2022 in preparation for participation in a tournament. Prior to this, the name had been used unofficially when members of Pembinaan Mental Karate Kyokushinkai Indonesia (PMKKI) participated in matches under their personal names (details to follow).

精神格闘道場の設立には、Pembinaan Mental Karate Kyokushinkai Indonesia（PMKKI）の歴史が深く関わっています。PMKKIは、1967年5月7日にナルディ・T・ニルワント範士によって設立されました。PMKKIはインドネシア初の空手組織であり、創設者はFORKI（インドネシア空手連盟）の設立にも尽力しました。PMKKIは、精神的な成長、武士道精神、そして空手を生き方として重視する価値観を教えています。

The establishment of the Spirit Fighting Dojo is deeply intertwined with the history of Pembinaan Mental Karate Kyokushinkai Indonesia (PMKKI). PMKKI was founded by Hanshi Nardi T. Nirwanto on May 7, 1967. PMKKI is the first karate organization in Indonesia, and its founder was also instrumental in the establishment of FORKI (Indonesian Karate Federation). PMKKI teaches mental development, bushido spirit, and the values of karate as a way of life.

精神格闘道場の正式な設立は、PMKKIの一部の指導者たちが、近年道場が停滞していると感じたことがきっかけでした。彼らは、参加者の育成、訓練、試合において、情熱や革新が不足していると感じていました。PMKKIの道場とその訓練は、個々の生活の様々な側面で重要な役割を果たしてきたからこそ、制約や議論がある中でも、彼らは活動を継続することを決意しました。

The official establishment of the Spirit Fighting Dojo was triggered by the feeling among some PMKKI instructors that the dojo had stagnated in recent years. They felt a lack of passion and innovation in the development of participants, training, and matches. Precisely because PMKKI's dojo and its training have played a significant role in various aspects of individuals' lives, they decided to continue their activities despite limitations and debates.

オニー館長、リッキー理事長、スリアディ道場代表は、スラバヤにあるPMKKI道場の指導員であり、毎週の稽古で頻繁に顔を合わせていました。彼らは同じ視点を持ち、周囲の若者にPMKKIの精神を広めたいという共通のビジョンを持っていました。2021年末にCOVID-19のパンデミックが収束した後、彼らは成長意欲のある若い空手家向けに追加の訓練を提供することを決定しました。これは、精神的な成長を伴う空手道が、インドネシア初の空手道場としての歴史だけでなく、現代においてもダイナミックであることを示すためです。

Director Onny, Chairman Ricky, and Dojo Representative Suriadi, instructors at the PMKKI dojo in Surabaya, met frequently during weekly training sessions. They shared the same perspective and a common vision to spread the spirit of PMKKI to the young people around them. After the COVID-19 pandemic subsided at the end of 2021, they decided to provide additional training for young karateka with a desire to grow. This was to demonstrate that karate-do with mental development is dynamic not only as the history of the first karate dojo in Indonesia but also in the present day. Not left behind like a turtle in a shell.

当初は土曜日の朝のみ、自宅で気軽な組手の練習を行っていましたが、熱心な参加者が集まり、練習はより集中的になり、試合という明確な目標も生まれました。

Initially, they conducted casual kumite practice at home only on Saturday mornings, but enthusiastic participants gathered, and the practice became more intensive, with clear goals for matches.

PMKKIは、内部規定として会員が外部の試合やトーナメントに参加することを禁止しています。しかし、成長したいという欲求は誰にでもあり、公式な組織名を名乗らない限り参加が許可されています。そこで、「精神格闘道場」という名称が正式に設立されました。

PMKKI has internal regulations that prohibit members from participating in external matches or tournaments. However, because everyone has a desire to grow, participation is allowed as long as they do not use the official organization name. Therefore, the name "Spirit Fighting Dojo" was officially established.

もちろん、道場の設立や会員の公開トーナメントへの参加は、PMKKIの会長や他の関係者の理解と支援を得て行われました。成長のためには礼節を欠いてはなりません。PMKKIの指導者たちには、数回の電話連絡を通じて支援を表明しました。彼らの主なメッセージは、特に外部トーナメントでは常に選手の安全を優先すること、そして各主催者の規定に従うことでした。

Of course, the establishment of the dojo and the participation of members in public tournaments were carried out with the understanding and support of the PMKKI chairman and other stakeholders. To grow, one must not neglect etiquette. The PMKKI instructors expressed their support through several telephone communications. Their main message was to always prioritize the safety of athletes, especially in external tournaments, and to comply with the regulations of each organizer.

選手の安全は、指導者たちにとって最優先事項です。定期的な訓練を重視し、選手が準備不足と感じた場合、無理に試合に参加させることはありません。若い選手が対象であるため、保護者の役割も非常に重要です。訓練のビジョン、使命、継続性を実現するためには、保護者の全面的な信頼と支援が不可欠です。すべての訓練は、最も適切と思われる技術の経験と開発に基づいて提供されます。指導者たちは意見や提案を歓迎しますが、一貫性を保つために最終的な決定は指導者に委ねることが推奨されます。

The safety of the athletes is the top priority for the instructors. Regular training is emphasized, and athletes are not forced to participate in matches if the instructors feel they are not ready. As the athletes are young, the role of parents is also very important. Full trust and support from parents are essential to realize the vision, mission, and continuity of the training. All training is provided based on experience and development of techniques deemed most appropriate. While instructors welcome opinions and suggestions, it is recommended that final decisions be left to the instructors for consistency.

最終的な目標は、道場と選手の技術の発展です。指導者たちには個人的な利益を追求する目的はなく、道場とコミュニティへの誇りと献身のみが存在します。

The ultimate goal is the development of the dojo and the athletes' skills. The instructors have no personal gain objectives; they are driven solely by pride and dedication to the dojo and the community.

2024年11月に国際武道空手道連盟 極真会館（IBKO）が主催した第2回ワールドカップに4名の選手が出場し、初の国際大会を経験しました。結果はともあれ、選手たちにとって非常に貴重な学びの機会となりました。また、日本遠征に参加したメンバーは、IBKO極真坂本派代表の中島清貴代表による三十人連続組手と、中島代表の三段昇段審査を見学しました。その後、2024年12月にIBKOに正式加盟しました。 

In November 2024, four athletes participated in the 2nd World Cup hosted by IBKO, experiencing their first international tournament. Regardless of the results, it was a valuable learning opportunity for the athletes. Additionally, members who participated in the Japan expedition observed the thirty-man kumite and the third-dan promotion examination of Representative Kiyotaka Nakajima of IBKO Kyokushin Sakamoto. Subsequently, in December 2024, they officially joined IBKO.
